ACES' supervisors and therapists receive ongoing training and certification in today's latest, most innovative, and widely accepted teaching and therapeutic methodologies. The methodologies we use have been researched and scientifically proven to effectively treat behavior issues and learning deficits with individuals diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities.

The teaching methodologies we utilize address the needs of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.  From Discrete Trial Training (DTT), where we work 1:1 with a child in small steps to shape behavior to utilizing Visual Stratiegies in providing visual cues when needed to help our clients become more independent to introducing a Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), where we use motivating pictures to communicate words, to Pivotal Response Training (PRT), where we use play-based reinforcement of many kinds in an attempt to respond to commands.

Our occupational therapy (OT) programs offer fully equipped OT gyms that involve services supervised by licensed occupational therapists. We believe in stepping out of the parent or teacher role and getting down on the floor to play with things our autistic friends love, which increases the number of quality continuous interactions.

Our Speech and Language Therapists work with our clients and their parents to promote improved language, communication and social skills.

Our current teaching methodologies include:

  • Discrete Trial Training (DTT)
  • ABA/Behavior Modification
  • Visual Strategies
  • Play Therapies
  • Social Skills Training (Social Stories)
  • PECS
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Speech and Language Services
  • Pivotal Response Training (PRT)
